Assignment Capsule As a Behavioral Health Analytics Consultant, you will play a key part in developing metrics and analytics to support clinical strategy and program development. You will collect and analyze data, generate actionable insights, and make recommendations to improve the health and well-being of our members. Your contributions will be a critical and visible component in shaping Humana’s clinical programs. Specifically, you will have the opportunity to: * Influence and shape Humana’s key clinical strategic initiatives through in-depth data analytics and the development of clinical reports and tools

  • Provide consultation to corporate personnel for the purpose of developing clinical programs to improve the health and well-being of our members

  • Continually identify ways to improve and enhance current reports, increasing value and usability

  • Serve as a subject matter expert in medical and health administration data for Clinical Programs

  • Lead development of cutting edge analytic approaches and adoption of new tools

  • Perform additional ad hoc analyses as required

  • Ensure full and clear documentation of all processes

    Role Essentials

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in Actuarial Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Experimental Psychology, Statistics, Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Engineering, Public Health, Biology, Biomedical Sciences or related fields

  • Strong knowledge of SAS

  • 1-2 years of experience performing clinical data analytics

  • Experience working with complex datasets

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal

  • Excellent PC skills (including MS Word, and Excel) Role Desirables

  • Prior experience in a healthcare / insurance environment

  • Prior experience working with Qlikview

  • Knowledge of statistical methods and tools

  • Familiarity with Quality Improvement Initiatives such as HEDIS

  • Expertise in data mining, forecasting, simulation, and/or predictive modeling
