Humana is seeking an Associate Actuary to provide leadership in the measurement and evaluation of risk, as well as recommendations for action, consistent with established actuarial methods and standards. You will perform traditional actuarial work, as well as potentially manage the work of others . This main focus of this role is to work with the Medicare Part D PD Pricing team to project future financial results based on actual experience and drug-specific assumptions. Responsibilities include

  • Create, evaluate, test and support statistical, actuarial and data model designs for root cause analyses that can be used to increase business intelligence and domain expertise
  • Conduct root cause analyses, using your results to create recommendations for Medicare Part D pricing
  • Develop a library of metrics, methods, reports, results and recommendations
  • Act as a key resource and liaison to other functional areas of Humana's business, building productive cross-functional relationships
  • Work with complex data from various sources

  • Advanced Technology Skills including experience with SAS, SQL, or VBA programing

  • Ability to translate technical issues to staff and manager
  • Team building skills
  • Project management capability - able to plan and organize work for self and others on a team
  • Experience in more than one discipline (e.g., modeling, pricing, rate filing, reporting & analysis, reserving or trending)
