Role Scope and Responsibilities
Humana’s Direct Response Marketing department is expanding in the areas of big data and analytics. As a Marketing Analyst in Direct Response Marketing , you will be responsible for assisting the marketing team in developing data-driven, quantitative solutions to optimize consumer acquisition marketing campaigns across multiple media and products. You will work collaboratively with the Direct Response data, creative and media teams, business segment leaders, and other analysts in Humana’s Consumer Data and Analytics Center of Excellence . In this role, you will be expected to:
Write SAS and SQL code to pull, transform, and analyze marketing and consumer data in SAS and Business Objects.
Research and analyze consumer acquisition marketing campaigns from a data perspective. Interpret data, identify trends, and synthesize analytical insights into actionable strategy in support of the marketing team. Make recommendations to optimize marketing campaigns, drive revenue and decrease costs.
Present research and analytical findings to the marketing team and leadership.
Provide the marketing team with support designing and interpreting scientific marketing tests.
Assist in building demographic overlays, consumer segments, and statistical models to refine marketing campaigns.
Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as statistics, mathematics, economics, computer science, engineering, or other degree with a quantitative focus. Alternatively, Bachelor’s degree in another field and directly relevant work experience in a quantitative discipline.
0-3 years of work experience in the fields laid out above and including education.
Comfortable working with data. This is a data intensive role, requiring about 75% of time spent working with data in SAS, Business Objects, and Excel.
Familiarity with statistical methods, including: probability theory, A/B testing, multivariate testing, experiment planning and design, common tests for significance, and regression and statistical modeling.
Familiarity with branches of mathematics, including: algebra, calculus, and geometry.
Experience with computer languages, SQL code, or SAS code.
Working knowledge of advanced functions, graphing, and macro programming in Excel.
Detail oriented disposition.

Capacity to consistently derive actionable analytical insights from data in support of marketing efforts and business needs.
Interest in marketing, media and advertising.
Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate technical analytical results to non-technical audiences and leadership.
