Role Description:
Be a part of the Care Delivery Organization-- as a Medical Assistant, you will engage our patients to develop lifelong well-being and health is seeking a Medical Assistant to make a difference in people’s lives that provides prescribed medical treatment and personal care services to ill, injured, convalescent, and disabled persons under direction of a physician in Medical Centers.

Role Assignment:
* Assist with daily patient flow in areas as needed.

  • Gives direct patient care and performs indirect patient care activities, under the direction of a physician

  • Assists physician with examination as required and assists other staff members in providing patient care.

  • Communicates observations of patient’s.

  • Organize follow-up care and instructions for patients with test results.

  • Adheres to Department policies and procedures.

  • Assist with daily patient flow in clinic area as needed.

  • Patient teaching and education.

  • Documents in the EMR

  • Handles prescription refills, where applicable

    Role Essentials:

  • Active Medical Assistant Certificate as a Certified Medical Assistant/CMA or as a Registered Medical Assistant/RMA (Please note if you are currently certified, some CMA and RMA programs may still require completion of Humana approved certification program within one year from hire date)....or

  • At least 1 year of professional experience as a Medical Assistant in 'back-office' direct patient care with the ability to complete a Humana approved certification within one year from hire date

  • Experience in a fast pace/high volume environment

  • Experience with MS Outlook

  • Basic Computer knowledge

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • CPR certification

  • Must be a team player with excellent communication skills

  • This role is considered patient facing and is part of Humana’s Tuberculosis (TB) screening program. If selected for this role, you will be required to be screened for TB

  • The hours for this position will be 7:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. (CST)

    ROLE DESIRABLES


o Experience with Electronic Medical Records o Hands-on professional Phlebotomy experience o Experience with HEDIS o Bilingual English/Spanish- Must be able to speak, read, and write in both languages without limitations or assistance o Active Medical Assistant Certification or Registration from the following: American Association of Medical Assistant (AAMA), National Healthcareer Association, American Registry of Medical Assistants, National Association for Health Professionals, and/or American Medical Technologist

In this interview, you will listen to a set of interview questions over your phone and you will provide recorded responses to each question. You should anticipate this interview to take about 15 to 30 minutes. Your recorded interview will be reviewed and you will subsequently be informed if you will be moving forward to next round of interviews.
