Assignment Capsule Be a part of the Business Service World – Delivering quality, value and personalized service! Receive and properly route incoming telephone calls to the appropriate center departments. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Answer all center incoming calls promptly and professionally. Route incoming calls to appropriate center department/area and document other calls as telephone encounters ensuring that the encounters are assigned to the appropriate individual. Answer routine patient questions related to office activities. Retrieves messages from Answering Service every morning and after lunch hour. Places switchboard on service at the end of each day and logs messages received. Assures taped messages are in good working order. Responsible for assuring that telephones within the center are in good working order and initiates maintenance requests as needed. Prepares and mails monthly birthday cards to appropriate members. Cross-trained in other center job functions as requested by Center Administrator.

Role Essentials * High School Diploma or GED

  • 1 year or more of experience answering phone system with multiple phone lines

  • 1 year or more of experience in a ‘face-to-face’ customer service focused role

  • Bilingual English/Spanish-professional fluent levels needed in both

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Excellent customer service skills and telephone skills

  • Excellent computer skills, organizational, and multi-tasking skills

  • This role is considered patient facing and is part of Humana’s Tuberculosis (TB) screening program. If selected for this role, you will be required to be screened for TB Role Desirables

  • Experience and knowledge of medical terminology gained from patient facing/patient services role

  • Medical Reception experience

  • Experience with EMR’s

  • Experience with Geriatrics

  • Experience with Medicare/Medicaid

  • Experience with HEDIS
