The Data Manager 2 supports all aspects of configuration control, data management, and deficiency reporting. The Data Manager 2 work assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action.
The Data Manager 2 supports implementation of government and industry policies for requirements management, document management, change management, production and delivery, and configuration management of the performance, functional, and physical baselines. Acquires, validates, stores, protects, and processes required data to ensure the accessibility, reliability, and timeliness of the data for its users. Develops and executes architectures, policies, practices and procedures that properly manage the full data lifecycle needs of an enterprise. Understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas. Makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed. Follows established guidelines/procedures.
The Data Manager is part of the Digital Analytics and Insights (DA&I) team at Humana. This team provides reporting and analysis for all of Humana’s digital properties, targeting various audiences that include prospects, members, providers, employers, and agents/brokers. The Digital Analytics and Insights team works cross-functionally with teams in the Digital Center of Excellence and across the enterprise including digital marketing, product management, user experience, conversion testing, and others.The Data Manager will be responsible for:
Taking the lead on digital metrics projects that require technical implementation (establishing new data capture and/or new data structures / data feeds)
Working with other Digital Metrics team members to understand a project’s metrics requirements
Learning to implement new digital metrics technologies as they become available
Understanding Humana’s digital data and its’ nuances
Providing guidance to the DA&I team as well as other teams on data architecture and structure so that reporting can be accomplished in an effective and efficient manner
3-5 years of technical experience
Working knowledge of ad-hoc query tools and data repositories that support data extraction and manipulation
Deep understanding of database architectures, with the ability to recommend new data structures that will meet the demands of DA&I reporting
Experience and strong desire to work with large datasets
Ability to connect the dots between reporting requirements, and the database structure(s) needed to support that reporting in an optimized manner
Experience with building database queries (SQL, etc.) and APIs
Must be extremely detail oriented, with excellent organization skills and extensive attention to detail and accuracy
Should be resourceful, work well under pressure, flexible, adaptable, able to keep up in a fast-paced environment
Self-starter who can pick up a project, follow processes and execute the required metrics implementation work with minimal supervision
Implementation experience with web analytics platforms (Coremetrics, Adobe, Google Analytics, Webtrends)
Experience with analytics tag management systems (Ensighten, Tealium, Google Analytics Tag Manager, IBM Digital Data Exchange, Adobe DTM)
Familiarity / experience with Python and Hadoop
Database administration / management expertise
Experience creating database structures / data cubes based on reporting requirements
Experience working in a large, matrixed organization
Experience in healthcare and/or wellness
