Humana is seeking an Underwriting Director who will lead, evaluate, develop and maintain underwriting disciplines and policies, implementing improved tools and procedures and tracking associate improvements to ensure success.
Develop new pricing tools and practices for profitable growth utilizing multidisciplinary approaches
Analyze Humana’s opportunities and risks
Create innovative plans to drive, lead and guide the development and execution of Humana’s underwriting strategy using industry knowledge, personal credibility and vision
Coach team associates to deliver on business objectives, while assuring excellence in execution.
Define measurable success criteria and track the department’s progress towards achievement Key Competencies

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance or a related field
Previous underwriting experience
Demonstrated ability to interface effectively with internal and external business partner (brokers, agents, sales offices, actuarial services) Role Desirables
Master’s Degree in Business, Finance or Actuarial Sciences Reporting Relationships You will report to a Vice President. This area is under the leadership of the SVP & Chief Operating Officer.
