The Financial Reporting Professional 1 prepares and distributes periodic financial statements for users other than those directly employed by the organization. The Financial Reporting Professional 1 work assignments are often straightforward and of moderate complexity.


Humana is seeking a Financial Professional who will perform data analytics in the areas of financial reporting, business intelligence tools development, and data/process improvement initiatives. You will be responsible for maintaining the data structure to meet both internal and external financial reporting requirements. You will also be partnering with associates from other business areas to assist in various projects for finance/accounting department. Responsibilities include:

  • Perform reconciliations using various tools to ensure data quality and integrity

  • Assist in performing user acceptance test (UAT) to validate project deliverables meeting business requirements

  • Develop and maintain documentations of related production process as part of a business continuity plan

  • Think outside the box on developing new tools and processes on how to drive insights in Humana‚Äôs business

  • Build effective relationships with all business partners and stakeholders

  • Perform other ad hoc requests as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree with emphasis in Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics or similar

  • 2 years of experience in accounting/finance department

  • Experience using SQL and intermediate Excel level

  • Experience with data visualization tools or desire to learn new technologies

  • Self-starter and problem solver with a keen analytic mind

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience creating Macros in Excel

  • Intermediate SQL and database knowledge

  • Prior developer experience with QlikView and/or Tableau

  • Healthcare Insurance industry knowledge
