Humana is seeking an Associate Actuary to provide leadership in measurement and evaluation of risk, as well as recommendations for action, consistent with established actuarial methods and standards.

  • Directs the development and execution of models necessary to efficiently measure, monitor, price, and forecast the company’s specialty products.
  • Assesses the specialty competitive landscape and provides recommendations for key product and pricing differentiation.
  • Evaluates and makes recommendations for sales compensation and bonus opportunities that will propel sales growth.
  • Understands, explains, and projects dental and vision expense risk
  • Prepares comprehensive documented observations, analyses and interpretations of results including technical reports, summaries and quantitative analyses.
  • Requires communication and presentation skills, working independently with Medicare Leadership, Segment Leadership, and Finance on actuarial analyses and recommendations regarding appropriate courses of actions.

    Role Essentials

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • FSA or ASA plus relevant advanced degree, recent and relevant work experience, and/or other relevant professional designations.
  • MAAA
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong technical skills with SQL or equivalent programming experience (minimum 1 year experience)
  • Experience in more than two functions (e.g., modeling, pricing, rate filing, reporting & analysis, forecasting, reserving or trending)
