Humana VP, Finance and Operations in Metairie, Louisiana


The VP, Finance and Operations collects, analyzes and reports on various market data to connect financial outcomes with operational effectiveness. The VP Finance and Operations requires an in-depth understanding of how organization capabilities interrelate across segments and/or enterprise-wide. The job responsibilities include: strategic planning for aligned region, managing Medicare bid process, Provider reporting, managing and presenting full year forecast/budget variances and performing operational analysis to improve business results.


The Regional VP, Operations works with Actuary, MRA, Corporate Finance, Clinical and Market Point internally and Providers/Hospitals/Ancillary externally to drive optimization inclusive of activities spanning decisions required for day-to-day operations to strategic planning and addressing specific business performance issues across matrix organization and fostering key relationships with business stakeholders. Decisions are typically related to interdepartmental coordination, development and implementation of strategic plans, and business outcomes, and develops and implements strategic plans for the scope of management that are aligned with the Segment or Business strategy.

Required Qualifications

  • MBA, MHA or other financial certification such as CPA or CFA

  • Minimum 5 years of financial operations experience in Healthcare industry or management consulting work for hospitals

  • Experience with Medicare Advantage is required.
